Description
Evangelist Nelson E. Hinman, veteran of six years in the Navy, during which he served on the ill-fated aircraft carrier Lexington and later on the aircraft carrier Chester, will open a revival series Sunday at Bethel Temple. Hinman who was a machinists mate, is known as the "sailor evangelist". He was converted while serving on the Lexington, and subsequently conducted services in California when his ship was in port. Later the Navy gave him a release to enter the ministry. In the picture you can see Mr. Hinman, is wearing a black striped suit, collared shirt, and a tie. He is standing in front of a wall and smiling.
