Wednesday, afternoon, J. C. Roberts, Boatswain's Mate Third Class, was at the Bowen Service Men's Center on his way home after 30 months overseas to "surprise the folks ". His parents are Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Roberts of Cleburne. Now on a 30-day leave, Roberts is just going to take it easy. Mr. Roberts is shown dressed in his military uniform. He has a Purple Heart medal on his uniform. Published Fort Worth Star-Telegram Morning Edition October 5, 1944.
