J. E. Whitener, 95, sitting in a rocking chair on a front porch. Mr. Whitener built a log cabin in 1892 near Euless, Texas, which still stands on land he owns in that community. He is wearing a collared shirt, trousers, suspenders and a necktie. He has a beard.
