Description
Former Merchant Marine Clarence M. Scott, Junior, was in a dual explosion that shattered two naval ammunitions vessels July 17 at Port Chicago, California, and left Clarence with leg injuries. On August 2 he was released from duty, ending his career of seven years in service, four and one-half with the Navy, the rest with the Merchant Marine. Scott is pictured here. He is standing up with his back leaning against the wall wearing a suit. He is son of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Scott Sr. of Arlington and resides with his wife, Frances, at 1201 Hurley. He is a graduate of a Long Beach, California, high school and attended North Texas Agricultural College (NTAC) and Texas A&M before he joined the Navy in June 1937.
