Award Is Given to Ivanhoe Man -- The Purple Heart has been awarded to Private (Pvt.) John L. Cleghorn, attached to a 5th Army hospital unit, Ivanhoe, who was wounded in Italy May 30. Private Cleghorn is shown here -- a half bust photograph of a young man, facing front and wearing military uniform. He has written his mother, Mrs. Ava Gray, that his injuries were slight and he has returned to duty. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, August 28, 1944.
