Description
Thomas Dugan Baxter, 23, aviation radioman first class for the United States Navy (USN), is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Baxter, after a year of overseas service in the Central Pacific. Baxter was born in Fort Worth and graduated from North Side High School in 1939. He has been in service two years and four months. His battle stars represent offensive aerial action in the Marshalls, Gilberts and Caroline Islands. He took part in the offensive at Tarawa, Makin and Kwajalein and was stationed for a while in the Ellice Islands. In this picture, he is shown standing, wearing his military uniform. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, August 20, 1944.
