Chief Petty Officer Ronald A. Rhodes, Pharmacist's Mate, United States Navy Reserve, is dressed in his military uniform. Given medical discharge, he resumes work as artist with Star-Telegram. He had been with the Star-Telegram five years when he left for duty. He entered the service in September 1942 and wears two bronze stars for participation in two major battles. He had been in service before the war, from 1929 to 1931 with the Marine Medical Corps in China. Published on August 17, 1944.
