Description
Private First Class (Pfc.) Willie E. Shipp, 90th Division infantryman, was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously. He was killed in France July 12. Private Shipp is shown in a portrait sitting down, wearing a suit and necktie, with his hands crossed in his lap. His widow, the former Miss Ruth Denley, lives in Horton, Alabama. The award will be sent to Private Shipp's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Shipp. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, August 20, 1944.
