    News From Our Boys -- Private First Class Oscar Byars, 21, who spent 18 months overseas with the 36th Division and fought at Salerno, is spending furlough with his wife and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Byars, all of 600 Ninth Avenue. Private First Class Byars is shown standing against a bare wall, facing front and smiling for the camera. He is wearing uniform. He will report to Fort Sam Houston on August 24, for reassignment. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, August 23, 1944.
