Description
First bale of cotton. Harvey Joe and Allen Ritchey, front, left to right, sons of W. H Ritchey; back row, left, Haslet gin owner, play in the first wagon load of cotton produced in Tarrant County in 1944 by Gus Bell, back row, right. Bell brought the first 1944 bale in the county to the gin Monday afternoon. The children are sitting in the pile of cotton, and the two men are sitting behind in a wooden rail. The boys are wearing striped shirts, and the men are wearing hats, and long sleeve collared shirt.
