Mrs. Preslar is wearing a dress with eyelet work and is smiling up at her son. The family is standing outside their home in the yard in front of shrubbery."After seventeen months of duty in the South Pacific on a troop and supply ship, Douglas Preslar, 20, petty officer second class, just walked in unannounced on his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Preslar, 732 McCurdy, but from the smiles on their faces they didn't mind the unexpected visit." Published Star-Telegram Morn. Aug. 5, 1944.
