Doyle Chaffin, radio operator and gunner on a Marauder based in England, who had been awarded the DFC and Air Medal with several clusters, was reported missing in action over France July 8. He is the son of Mrs. J. L. Chaffin of Tioga, where he was born and reared. He was a painter at Irving before enlisting in 1942." Published Star-Telegram Morn. Aug. 6, 1944.
