    Corporal Mickey M. Murphy, 25, former Fort Worth radio announcer and veteran of 18 months of Marine Corps combat duty in the Southwest Pacific, is in Fort Worth for a 15-day leave, visiting friends and relatives before returning to duty at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He is a graduate of North Side High. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in June 1941. He is he son of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Murphy, Lake Worth. He is wearing his military uniform and posing for a picture. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, evening edition, August 29, 1944.
