    Description

    Lieutenant J. P. Burke Junior, right, commanding officer of Navy V-5 unit at Texas Christian University, hands departure orders to Marine Sergeant M. Kramer, last of the Navy aviation trainees to leave the school. Kramer goes to Naval Pre-Flight School at Athens, Georgia. The V-5 program at Texas Christian University, which has trained about 1,500 officers and men, has been dissolved. Sergeant Kramer carries a duffel bag on his left shoulder and accepts his orders with his right hand from Lieutenant Burke. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, July 30, 1944.
