Description
The hottest battles in the District Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) boxing tournament finals at La Grave Field was this novice featherweight bout between Private First Class J. J. White of the Eagle Mountain Marines and William Murray of Fort Worth Army Air Field (FWAAF). Here white is shown evading one of Murray's punches. The Marine took a three round decision. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, July 30, 1944.
