G. W. Jarvis, ship's Cook Second Class, son of Mrs. Claude Jarvis, who participated in the bombing of Roi, has been home on leave after a year's service in the Pacific. He left July 27 to report to his new base at Norfolk, Virginia. His brother, F. P. Moore, motor machinist's mate first class, is with a Seabees unit in the South Pacific. A brother-in-law, Private First Class W. F. Critchfield, marine, is in the same area. Mr. Jarvis is wearing military uniforms, smile, and posing for a picture. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, evening edition, July 28, 1944.
