    Description

    Texas Rural Letter Carriers Association convention, opened a two-day session at Hotel Texas (Hilton Fort Worth). Left to right, Frank H. Ashmore of Manor, and Robert S. Lee of Hamilton. Ashmore was appointed a rural carrier October 1, 1906, and is still active. His route has varied from 24 to 35 miles in that time. He is believed to be the oldest carrier in years of service attending the convention. Robert S. Lee of Hamilton is the rural carrier who has covered the most miles in delivering the mail. In 31 years he has covered a 63-mile route and rolled up a total of 594,000 miles. Ashmore and Lee are shown standing and smiling for the photo. Both wearing suits and ties, and eyeglasses.
