Description
Major William B. Swinney, member of the general staff of the the sixteenth (16th) Corps at Fort Riley, Kansas, is in Fort Worth for a ten-day (10) visit with his mother, Mrs. J. W. Swinney. Major Swinney, a World War one (I) veteran, was formerly in the automotive electric business here for 23 years. He served as camp commander, executive officer and division maintenance officer. He was transferred to the 16th Corps on May 4, 1944. He is accompanied by his wife. They are also visiting his brother, G. L. Swinney and his sister Mrs. Rip Burks. Major Swinney is shown in military uniform. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, July 24, 1944.
