Description

Captain James A. Lore Junior is glad C-24 pilot training includes flying on one motor. If it didn't Lore might not have gotten back from delivering a load of paratroopers for the Normandy invasion. He has a perfect record without losing the ship or any crew casualties for 20 months of flying in the troop carrier command. Captain Lore also wears the Air Medal with one oak leaf cluster, and was awarded the Silver Star. Lore returned last weekend on rotation rest leave. He is visiting his wife, who lives with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Stone, and his parents are Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Lore Senior. Lore attended Fort Worth schools graduated from Texas Christian University and from the University of Texas School of Law. He was an attorney in Amarillo when he enlisted in November 1941. Also a flier is his sister, Ann Lore, who is a Women Air Force Service Pilots (WASP) stationed at Pecos. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 22, 1944.
