Description
Lieutenant Paul A. Marriott is a pilot in the United States Army Air Forces. He is stationed in Dallas, Texas, with the 8th Service Command to assist in the Civil Air Patrol (C. A. P.) recruiting program. Lieutenant Marriott entered the service in June of 1942 and received his wings in 1943. The pilot was previously stationed overseas in England. On January 7, 1944, he participated in a raid over Ludwigshafen, Germany, and was forced to crash land a Flying Fortress. Marriott suffered wounds in the back, left knee, and ankle, but managed to escape German capture. He wears the Purple Heart, Air Medal, and the Presidential Unit Citation. Lieutenant Marriott is pictured standing against a wall, dressed in his military uniform.
