    Copy of a portrait photograph of Sergeant Richard L. Elliott, who was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart for gallantry in action on March 16, 1944. He was leading a small group of volunteers on the Manus Island when he was wounded during an assault on enemy positions. Sergeant Elliot is a native of Turkey, Texas. He is married to the former Miss Inez Titus. Sergeant Elliot is pictured wearing his military uniform.
