Description
Ensign William W. Carter, twenty-two years old, was commissioned by the Navy at Los Angeles, California, where he was doing research work for the service. Ensign Carter is home in Fort Worth, Texas, to visit his mother, Mrs. E. H. Carter before he leaves for Fort Schuyler, New York for indoctrination. Ensign Carter is a former carrier-salesman for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. He graduated from Paschal High School in 1939 and received a scholarship to Carnegie Tech where he finished with a BS in physics. He was working on his Ph. D. at California Tech when he was commissioned, Ensign Carter is standing against a wall, dressed in his military uniform.
