Description
Miss Winifred Piner, 21-year-old student representing Texas Technological College, at Lubbock, Texas, was crowned "Miss West Texas of 1940" at the West Texas Chamber of Commerce convention at Big Spring, Texas. She is wearing a sleeveless dress with thin shoulder straps and lace detailing, a flower crown, a necklace and a bracelet on her left wrist. Miss Piner is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Piner, of Big Spring, Texas, and the granddaughter of Mrs. Robert T. Piner, whose husband was one of the early-day settlers in Big Spring.
