Hubert J. Brown, right, athletic director of Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), shown with his predecessor, Roland E. Balch, in Navy uniform. They are standing next to each other . Brown is assistant coach at Amon Carter Riverside High School. He spent 10 years coaching and 5 years in school administration. He has a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree at North Texas State Technical College (NTSTC). He is married to the former Miss Clarisse Barnes and have one son, Jimmy, 2. Balch prepared to report June 15 to the Naval Officers Indoctrination School of Tucson, Arizona. He received his commission as lieutenant junior grade in the Naval Reserves last April. He is a graduate of Texas Christian University and a master's degree from the University of Texas. Associated with the Fort Worth Public Schools since 1935, he was assistant athletic director of the schools when he resigned in June 1943 to take the position at the YMCA. He is the father of two girls, Rosalyn Ann, and and Khileen, 4. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, June 4, 1944.
