Description
Captain Lawrence A. Meece, 26, a 36th Division Italian campaign veteran. Capt. Meece participated in the Salerno invasion and swam ashore when the assault boat in which he was riding was shot from underneath the troops. He participated in the landing on the beach where Texans carried the Lone Star flag ashore. Capt. Meece is standing next to a window with blinds. He's wearing his military uniform.
