Description
The Fort Worth, Texas Red Cross Blood Donor mobile unit launched a series of out-of-town stands, to include Ardmore, Oklahoma. Many donors crowded the temporary center and waited hours in long lines outside. Mrs. R. G. Colvert, canteen chairman, is shown serving coffee to Mrs. F. B. Sumner, donor, whose husband is a pilot in the Air Transport Command (ATC), Africa, who is sitting at a table. On the table are a plate of cookies, crackers, and a cup and saucer. Mrs. Sumner is wearing a striped dress and Mrs. Colvert is wearing a Red Cross uniform. She has two sons in the service. Published in the Fort Wort Star-Telegram evening edition, April 12, 1944.
