Private First Class. Horace C. Warfield, of the United States Marine Corp, took part in the battle of Guadalcanal and Munda without a scratch, but was wounded at Tarawa, in the Gilbert Islands on November 23, 1943. He was awarded the Purple Heart. A copy of a portrait of Private First Class Warfield in his military uniform. Star-Telegram Morning March 18, 1944
