Description
Captain Charles B. Covert is a bomber pilot in the United States Army. The former Fort Worth, Texas resident is stationed in his home town at the Army Air Field Training Command Headquarters. Captain Covert spent eight months overseas. He piloted a B-17 known as "Cotton Eye Joe" on fifty missions, earning an Air Medal and nine Oak Leaf Clusters. Captain Covert graduated from old Central High School in 1932, then attended North Texas Agricultural College (NTAC) and North Texas State Teachers College (NTSTC). He entered the Army in 1940 and married Miss Maxine Kruger, of San Antonio, Texas two years later. The couple has one son, Charles Junior. Captain Covert is standing against a wall, wearing his military uniform. There is a painting hanging behind his right shoulder.
