    Description

Tarrant County had bought war bonds totaling $10,236,690.75 when J. Lewell Lafferty, left, and Roscoe Smith took the first official tally. This is nearly the halfway mark for their quota of $23,982,000. Mr. Lafferty is county war finance chairman. He is wearing a double breasted suit. Mr. Smith is the manager of the Fort Worth Clearing House Association. He is dressed in a suit as he holds a stick of chalk and an eraser. On the chalkboard is a tally of the total funds raised compared to the quota.
