    Description

Students of Oakhurst Elementary School with part of the 18,000 pounds of paper they collectively contributed to the waste paper campaign being conducted in public schools. The accumulation consists of old printed forms and "dead" correspondence from the files of the Oil Workers Union, donated to the school by E. C. Conarty, secretary. His sons, James and Dennis Conarty (front and rear, left) with Dennis Blankenship (center) and Bob Hardie (right) helped load the paper. They are standing in a hallway and are carrying various stacks and boxes of paper. Published Fort Worth Star-Telegram Evening Edition January 25, 1944.
