Description
Mr. W. W. Hovey came to Fort Worth, Texas, fifty years ago on the first Rock Island Railway train operated into the city. He was the first freight house and baggage manager for the Rock Island here. Mr. Hovey, 92, died Saturday, January 22, 1944 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Don A. Cowan Senior (Sr.). He was a native of New York, New York. A copy of his half-bust portrait photograph is pictured here. He is shown in a three-piece suit, a tie and eyeglasses. Reverend (Rev.) James F. Hardie will conduct funeral services Monday morning at Broadway Presbyterian Church. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, January 24, 1944.
