Description
Private First Class Arnold Murdock, of Sherman, Texas, is serving with the United States Army. He was wounded in the foot at the Salerno Beach landing during the Operation Avalanche, 1943. He wears the Purple Heart for his injury. Private (Pfc.) Murdock is shown dressed in a military uniform and walking with the aid of crutches. He is reading a poster used as a thermometer to display money raised for the Fourth War Loan Drive's back the attack campaign. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, January 19, 1944.
