Description
Soldiers can spend the night at the Service Men's Center for 50 cents. When there aren't enough beds, soldiers sleep on chairs or couches. Private C. M. Elfer of Saint Rose, Louisiana, Camp Hood, manages to sleep on a table. Behind him are other soldiers, some standing and some sitting on couches and chairs. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 23, 1944.
