The Texas Christian University (T. C. U.) football team is hosting the visiting Southern Methodist University (S. M. U.) Mustangs at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. Taking the field at halftime, left to right, are Wendell Willkie, Dr. M. E. Sadler, Miss Frances Williams, and Jim Brown. Mr. Willkie is a prospective presidential candidate for the Republican party. He ran against President Franklin Roosevelt in 1940 and is campaigning to do so again. He is dressed in a suit and a long coat. Mr. Willkie is being presented with a football during the halftime ceremony. Dr. Sadler is the president of T. C. U. He is dressed in a double breasted suit. Miss Williams, of Dallas, Texas, is carrying a bouquet of flowers. She is wearing a dress and a fur coat. Mr. Brown is a member of the Navy's V-12 training program. He is dressed in a military uniform.
