Description
Sydneyanna Carter, center, Riverside High School senior, won the $10 first prize in the Colonial Dames essay contest. Her classmates, Aneita Jamar, left, and Barbara Fitzgerald, right, won third and second prize, respectively. The winning essay will be entered in the state contest against essays from seven other Texas cities. The students are standing against a wall. Miss Carter is wearing a floral print dress. Miss Jamar is wearing a checkered dress. Miss Fitzgerald is wearing a blouse with ruffles down the front and on the edge of the sleeves and a skirt.
