Description

Lieutenant General Barton K. Yount and R.E. Harding Two men standing at a microphone, Lt. Gen. Yount in uniform with a light shirt and tie, military ribbons and insignia on his jacket. Light pants, eyeglasses. Mr. Harding is in a dark three-piece suit, the light shirt and tie barely visible. Also wearing eyeglasses. Beyond the two men are several men seated at a luncheon table, small American flags, plates, cups, and papers on the table. They are in a room with a stage behind the speakers and diners. Clipping: "What's Money--When . . . .? 'What's $50 of your money, when men of the fighting services are giving a leg or an eye or their lives--for you?' Lt. Gen. Barton K. Yount, commanding general of the United States Army Air Forces Training Command, asked 500 War Chest workers at a 'kickoff' luncheon for the $649,457 drive Tuesday. General Yount, left, is shown at the microphone as he was introduced by R. E. Harding, one of the War Chest's three managing directors." Stamped: Star-Telegram, Morn Nov 2, 1943
