Left to right, Private Ben Bowen of the US Army and Charles Buford of the Navy, both former Star-Telegram office boys. Two young men in military uniform standing against a painted plaster wall. Bowen is in an Army uniform with insignia on the lapels and collars, he is standing with his arms at his sides. His shirt is a dark color with a lighter contrasting solid color tie. The uniform jacket and hat have bright metal buttons and insignia. Buford is in a Navy uniform with a white undershirt showing at the neckline and a shiny fabric tie knotted below the neckline. His white sailor's hat is perched on the back of his head and his hands are tucked behind his back.
