Description
Major Aizad Awan, squadron leader in the Indian Air Force, was in Fort Worth Sunday to begin a tour of training centers and aircraft production plants. He arrived in the United States a month ago from India via London. While here, he is meeting the Air Force personnel and studying the training methods to form the basis of a report to his country. Fort the past month he has been in Washington conferring with Government and military officials and attaches of the United Nations. Awan has been flying for 14 years. He received his commission from the RAF College in England in July, 1932. At the outbreak of the war he served with a coastal patrol group in India protecting the West Coast bordering on the Arabian Sea from submarines. In this picture, he stands with his hand behind his back in front of a window. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, September 3, 1943.
