The Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (W. A. A. C.) is preparing for the inauguration of national W. A. A. C. Week, May 16, 1943. The week represents the first birthday of the feminine branch of the United States Army. Standing, left to right, are Mrs. Lester Boone, Mrs. James F. Farmer and Mrs. Preston Fowlkes. Seated is Lieutenant Madia Moorhead. The women are attending a Jaycette luncheon to discuss recruiting. Lieutenant Moorhead is assigned to the Fort Worth Army Recruiting Office. She is dressed in her uniform. The other three women are chairmen of the organization, also dressed in uniforms.
