Description
The Catholic University Cardinals are playing the Arizona State Bulldogs in the 1940 Sun Bowl. The game is being held at Kidd Field in El Paso Texas. Number 42 is running with the football cradled in his left arm. He is holding out his right hand, preparing to stiff arm the defender. The game was predicted to be one of the highest scoring of the season. But a gale wind impeded the passing game and only sixteen total yards were gained through the air. The final score was a 0-0 tie, the only scoreless tie in Sun Bowl history.
