J. W. Walker, welding a piece of pipe on the Devonian Oil Company 6,300-foot exploration oil well on the Raymond E. Buck ranch in Parker County. It is 18 miles southwest of Fort Worth, Texas, and nine miles southeast of Weatherford, Texas. Walker is shown surrounded by multiple pieces of pipe and is wearing a welding mask, coveralls and gloves.
