(Left to right) City Detective Chief Howard Grant, Detective Captain H. E. Chapple, and R. G. Danner, involved in the capture of Thomas Nathan (Pete) Norris, fugitive from the Texas Penitentiary. The trio is shown standing beside each other, smiling and engaging in conversation. Each of them are wearing dark suits with Mr. Chapple is also holding a brimmed hat in his left hand while he has his arm crossed. . Norris who was on the FBI's most wanted list, was captured about 12 miles southeast of Kennedale, after a chase by city detectives, FBI agents and Texas Ranger. The No. 1 'badman' was given 436 years for robbery and murder in Fort Bend, Richmond and Houston in 1936. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, February 24, 1943.
