Description
George J. Newman Junior (left), 34-year-old vice president of the Consolidated Aircraft Corporation, and the first man ever to receive Junior Chamber of Commerce local, state and national awards for service to city, State and Nation, was honored at a dinner at the Blackstone Hotel. With Newman are, left to right, Doctor Herald Cox, chosen as one of the nation's 10 outstanding young men, Ben E. Keith, who presided at the banquet, and William Shepherd, national president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. The four men are standing around a podium with Mr. Kieth at the microphone. Behind them are the American and Texas flags. All four men are wearing suits. Dr. Cox is also wearing a pair of eyeglasses.
