Barton of Wellington, Texas; Mrs. Morris Higley of Childress, Texas; E. W. Solomon of Memphis, Texas; H. J. Keck of Childress, Texas; P. J. Harp of Kirkland, Texas, and Pat Steed of Childress, Texas, kneeling. The men are are wearing dark suits and brimmed hats. The women are wearing long coats and hats. Mr. Steed is shown holding the side of the bomb which has a label "Valentine of steel to Hitler & Hirohito from First Class AAFBS, Childress, Texas." The group were allowed to watch a bombing demonstration from atop the school's 75-foot high control tower. published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, February 15, 1943.
