Description

The 1943 Golden Gloves State Tournament is being held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Squaring off in the quarterfinals for the light-heavyweight division, left to right, are Staff Sergeant Presley Darnell and sailor Henry McAdams. Darnell is an Army soldier, representing Fort Worth, Texas. McAdams is a Navy man from Grand Prairie, Texas. Darnell is shown connecting on a sharp right hook. Despite the exchange, McAdams won the bout.
