Description
Prominent figures at the opening of the first emergency medical station in Fort Worth, Texas at Riverside Elementary School were, standing left to right, John Cox, chairman of the Stretcher Bearer Corps; E. M. Cunningham, assistant adjutant of the Office of Defense; and Homer Wallace, chairman of Tarrant County's Stretcher Bearer Corps. The three men are wearing suits and ties. Mr. Cox and Mr. Wallace are wearing eyeglasses, armbands that read "C D C." (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and holding hats. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, February 9, 1943.
