Mrs. T. D. Brinkman, of Chicago, Illinois, a visitor in Fort Worth, Texas, is a teacher of the mute who surmounted her own vocal handicap by learning to speak with a reed. She is shown sitting in a chair, wearing a dress. Mrs. Brinkman has a tracheostomy and is wearing a cover over it. She is holding a hand-held speech aide instrument.
