Description
Wives of Army officers at Camp Wolters made the Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells, Texas, their temporary home. Mrs. Don Shurtleff and her young daughter, Lee, moved to Mineral Wells in May of 1942. Mrs. Shurtleff is a native of Yankton, South Dakota. Lee was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, where her father, Second Lieutenant Shurtleff, also was born. Lee is sitting up in a baby carriage. Mrs. Shurtleff is wearing a half-sleeve dress and a pair of dark heels. In the background is a bookcase.
