Description
M. W. Biggers Senior and son John Biggers are standing next to each other in front of a wall in their home. Both are wearing matching uniforms that have a shoulder patch that says "Texas Defense Guard." Mr. Biggers is also wearing a pair of eyeglasses. All 12 members (including sons-in-laws) of the Biggers family are either in the service or engaged in some kind of war work. Mr. Biggers is a store keeper in the subsistence branch of the Quartermaster Depot and a mess sergeant and custodian of quarters for the 27th Battalion of the Texas Defense Guard. John is taking a machine shop course at Technical High School and every afternoon after school he goes to the Texas Defense Guard Armory to help his father do the custodial chores.
