Description
The Block Mothers is a local organization with 10,000 members. They are putting plans into motion to organize their neighborhoods before additional rationing programs go into effect. A group of majors from the Southwest sector are shown mapping a strategy. Sitting on a couch, left to right, are Mrs. George A. Weaver, Mrs. C. C. Haden, Mrs. Sol Brachman, and Mrs. Gurney Peoples. Standing behind the couch is Mrs. E. E. Aldridge. Mrs. Weaver, Mrs. Haden and Mrs. Aldridge are wearing dark dresses and hats. Mrs. Weaver is also wearing a pearl necklace. Mrs. Brachman is wearing a collared blouse, blazer and a skirt. Mrs. Peoples is wearing a buttoned dress. Hanging on the back wall behind the couch is a framed landscape painting.
